Abortion is a medical procedure to terminate growth of fetus or embryo while it's still in mother's womb. This is a big debate in different communities on legal status of abortion. Majority of the countries allow legally to abort when requested. However, gender test done for boy-child-want is illegal and abortion is discouraged. Abortion is done in rare cases where pregnancy results due to rape, deformed fetus and contraceptive failure or mother's health become adverse. It is seen that most of the abortion cases occur for the want of male child. There are some who oppose abortion and some not. Some think it's mother right to decide, until the the fetus has reached a stage where it has 'sensation' and 'life'. While some don't agree with this practice as they believe that the soul enters right when a fetus is conceived.

Bible doesn't speak for and against directly, but it do speak about fetus in mother's womb.

God commands various ceremonial laws to Moses so that he can give to Israelites. One of which is –Laws about Violent Acts, mentions result of hurting a fetus: “... and hurt a pregnant woman so that she loses her child... one who hurt her is to be fined... "—Exodus 21:22-25. Here, it talks about men fighting and injuring a pregnant lady's fetus. God commands that it should not be overlooked and victim should be penalized. But these verses do not match with the modern day induced abortion. Neither the law defines stage of fetus nor mother's right on fetus abortion. But it give us significance of life, such practices cannot be taken as simple as kitchen work.

Our names are carved on God's palm even before we are born. He know us before we were in womb. And when we are conceived in mother's womb, God form us with perfection through complex and very minute process.

Female feticide topic was once chosen in an Indian TV talk show 'Satyamev Jayate' hosted by Aamir Khan. Various women confessed their experiences revealing that feticide is practised more in financially high class people who are city centered and well enough educated. Doctors knowingly practice just because female child are unacceptable. Mothers and wives are tortured and looked down with low esteem if they happen to bore female child.

What about Eve the first woman of the earth? “... he took out one of the man's ribs and closed up the flesh. He formed a woman out of the rib and brought her to him."—Exodus 2:21-22. This indicates that neither a man nor woman is superior or inferior. “... every husband must love his wife as himself...” —Ephesians 5:33
